The Talented Mr. Szauder

The Talented Mr. Szauder
By Eleni Stamoulakatou
David Szauder’s art does not leave one feeling impressed, but rather, utterly smitten.
For me, it starts with Babel (plus everything else he's ever created but need to start with what feels like the epitome of his work and impeccable standards) and as he describes it, "In a world built from binary—black and white, truth and illusion—we march forward without knowing where we are going. This is not just religion, nor just ritual. It is the performance of authority in a society that no longer believes in singular truths. The bishop’s silence is louder than prophecy, his shadow stitched into the chaos beneath his feet. Each square beneath him is a decision, a doctrine, a decree—but none leads to resolution. Politics and religion blend here, not to offer clarity, but to confuse. We build, like Babel’s architects, higher and higher, driven not by vision but inertia. We do. We act. We legislate. We proclaim. And yet we ask: where does this all lead? The video doesn’t answer. It mirrors. It resists narrative. A frozen frame in a story too complex to tell—an opera without libretto, a ritual stripped of salvation."
David Szauder is a conjurer of visual storytelling weaving imagery and sound into AI-powered animation; a poet without words, expressing emotions and concepts on a reflective canvas. Every era carries its own voice. This one is bold, unafraid, and impossible to ignore. Sophisticated, artistic and elegant; tasteful and alluring; powerful and audacious yet, graceful, delicate and refined. This is exquisite and right down spectacular storytelling. Makes one feel compelled to take it up a notch, simply to rise to the occasion. David Szauder, on behalf of anything with a pulse, common sense and a grasp of impeccable aesthetics, I humbly salute you.
